The IABCET accreditation process is a structured, transparent, and rigorous pathway through which educational institutions, training providers, and continuing education programs earn IABCET accreditation. Overview of the IABCET Accreditation Process

Stage 1 — Eligibility Review
The IABCET accreditation process begins with an eligibility review. Before submitting a formal application, organizations must confirm that they meet IABCET’s basic eligibility requirements. This includes demonstrating that the organization is actively engaged in delivering education, training, or continuing education programs, and that it has the organizational capacity to undertake the accreditation process.
The eligibility review protects both the applicant and the integrity of the IABCET accreditation process by ensuring that only genuinely eligible organizations proceed to the formal application stage.
Stage 2 — Application & Documentation
Once eligibility is confirmed, the organization submits a formal application for IABCET accreditation. The application requires the organization to provide comprehensive documentation covering all relevant areas of the IABCET accreditation standards, including governance, curriculum design, instructional quality, learner assessment, quality assurance processes, and records management.
IABCET provides applicants with clear guidance and documentation requirements to support a smooth and complete application submission. Stage 3 — Self-Study & Evaluation
A core element of the IABCET accreditation process is the self-study. Stage 4 — Independent Review & Assessment
Following the submission of the application and self-study report, IABCET conducts an independent review and assessment. This involves a detailed evaluation of all submitted documentation by qualified IABCET reviewers, and may include a site visit or virtual review to verify the accuracy of the information provided and assess the organization’s programs in practice.
The independent review stage is central to the credibility of the IABCET accreditation process. It ensures that accreditation decisions are based on objective, evidence-based evaluation rather than self-reported information alone.
Stage 5 — Accreditation Decision
Following the independent review, the IABCET Accreditation Committee reviews the findings and makes a formal accreditation decision. Possible outcomes of the IABCET accreditation process include:
- Accreditation Granted — The organization has met all applicable IABCET accreditation standards and is awarded IABCET accreditation
- Accreditation with Conditions — The organization has substantially met the standards but is required to address specific areas before full accreditation is confirmed
- Accreditation Deferred — The organization requires further development before it can meet IABCET accreditation standards, and is invited to reapply at a later stage
- Accreditation Denied — The organization has not met the IABCET accreditation standards at this time
All accreditation decisions are communicated to the applicant in writing, with a clear explanation of the findings and, where applicable, the steps required to achieve or maintain IABCET accreditation.
Maintaining IABCET Accreditation — Reaccreditation
IABCET accreditation is not permanent. Accredited organizations are required to undergo periodic reaccreditation to demonstrate continued compliance with IABCET accreditation standards and an ongoing commitment to quality and continuous improvement. The reaccreditation process follows a similar structure to the initial IABCET accreditation process and ensures that accreditation remains a meaningful, living standard — not a one-time achievement.
