Leadership & Governance
IABCET is committed to responsible governance, transparent oversight, and
consistent accreditation practices. Its governance framework supports the
development of standards, evaluation activities, accreditation decisions,
quality assurance, and organizational accountability.
Our Governance Commitment
Effective governance is essential to maintaining confidence in an
accreditation organization. IABCET’s governance approach is designed to
support integrity, fairness, consistency, accountability, and responsible
decision-making throughout its accreditation activities.
Governance responsibilities are supported through appropriate leadership,
committees, and operational functions that contribute to the administration
and quality assurance of IABCET activities.
Governance Structure
IABCET maintains an organizational governance structure that supports
accreditation oversight and quality assurance. Different responsibilities
may be assigned to leadership, committees, reviewers, assessors, and
administrative functions according to their respective roles.
- Organizational leadership and oversight
- Accreditation review and evaluation
- Standards and quality assurance
- Accreditation decision-making
- Complaints and appeals
- Professional and continuing education activities
- Ongoing organizational improvement
Committees and Accreditation Oversight
IABCET uses committees and designated functions to support specialized areas
of accreditation and quality assurance. Committee responsibilities may
include review, evaluation, standards development, accreditation oversight,
appeals, and other functions relevant to the organization’s activities.

IABCET Committees & Governance
page.
Accreditation Decision-Making
Accreditation decisions are based on the applicable IABCET requirements,
standards, criteria, and evaluation process. Applicants are expected to
provide appropriate evidence demonstrating compliance with the requirements
applicable to their accreditation category.
The payment of an application or accreditation fee does not, by itself,
establish eligibility or guarantee accreditation. Accreditation is subject
to the applicable review and decision-making process.
Independence and Impartiality
IABCET recognizes the importance of impartiality and appropriate separation
of responsibilities in accreditation activities. Individuals involved in
accreditation-related decisions should act objectively and disclose
relevant conflicts of interest where applicable.
IABCET is committed to maintaining processes that support fair and
consistent treatment of applicants and accredited organizations.
Conflict of Interest
Conflicts of interest can affect confidence in accreditation decisions.
IABCET therefore recognizes the importance of identifying, disclosing, and
appropriately managing actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest
involving individuals participating in accreditation activities.
Detailed information regarding IABCET’s conflict-of-interest requirements
will be provided through its applicable policies and procedures.
Accountability and Transparency
IABCET supports transparency by making relevant information about its
accreditation framework, standards, procedures, governance, and verification
resources publicly accessible.
Stakeholders can review the organization’s published requirements and
accreditation resources to better understand how IABCET activities are
structured and administered.
Governance and Continuous Improvement
Governance is an ongoing responsibility. IABCET may review its policies,
standards, procedures, committee responsibilities, and organizational
practices as appropriate to support continuous improvement.
Updates to accreditation requirements and organizational practices may be
communicated through official IABCET publications and announcements.
